About David Beagin
Professional
I am currently the creative director at Gasper Landscapes, Inc. Gasper includes four divisions: a home & garden showplace, a landscape design & construction center, an outdoor furnishings studio, and a do-it-yourself hardscape & building supply center. I design between eight to ten catalogs and lookbooks per year in addition to brochures, postcards, calendars, and web pages. I favor a content marketing approach in all the publications I design for Gasper. The more helpful the content is for our reader, the more they will engage with our services.
I have thrived in my position as graphic designer & web content specialist with Viewpoint Construction Software (formerly Maxwell Systems). I have been the company's brand steward while also demonstrating my extensive experience in graphic design, publication design, web design, content marketing, social media, multimedia production, and SEO.
In my position as art director at Medimedia Animal Health I designed four distinct medical journals relating to animal health and veterinary continuing education. A thoughtful redesign of Compendium increased readership by 181 percent. The journal subsequently became ranked number one in overall quality by the 2009 PERQ/FOCUS study.
Also of note, while at MediMedia StayWell, I served as the lead designer for Starting Out Healthy, a syndicated health-related news publication for children’s hospitals. My regional newsletter designs for varied audiences led to several national awards including the Healthcare Advertising Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards.
After completing comprehensive coursework in web design at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, I earned my Adobe Certifications in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash, and earned Microsoft certifications in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I also became a Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Web Foundations Associate and Web Design Professional.

Personal
I have a love for labrador retrievers and golden retrievers. The two black labs pictured to the right, Jack and Bobby, were rescued from a kill shelter in North Carolina in January 2009. I trained them myself with the help from a few Medimedia Animal Health friends. I've spent a great deal of time researching training textbooks and searching online resources in order to give my dogs the best home possible. My current golden retriever is Teddy (see below).
I welcome chatting with anyone in-depth about college football. I love the loyalty, pageantry, and tradition that is celebrated on college campuses nationally. More specifically, I am a loyal fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and all the universities in the Big Ten Conference. I have followed the history of the Big Ten Conference and major conference realignment closely.
My other interests include camping, hiking, architectural drawing, historic preservation, science fiction, photography, creating multimedia presentations in Apple iMovie, visiting dog parks, animal rescue, vacationing in Laguna Niguel, renovating historic buildings, home remodeling, and scouting.
