Continuing Education Articles
Continuing education articles deserve extra attention in an academic journal. They are usually the longest articles and can contain several tables, sidebars, figures, boxes, a long reference list, and a sample CE quiz. Designing CE articles that are compelling enough to increase reader engagement can be a challenge. A 16-page CE article can actually be less overwhelming when structured to be visually shorter by packaging information separately from the main content. Suddenly, a 16-page article can be easily be better absorbed when designed well. The following are some examples of continuing education articles that increase engagement by providing several points of entry — not only on page 1 of the article — but also at several points within the article.
